Dates for your diary: March

Finally, signs of spring seem to be in the air, and there’s plenty of other reasons to get excited with no shortage of things to do in Leeds this month – check out these dates for your diary:

4th March – Lionel Richie @ Leeds Arena

Hot on the heels of presenting Mark Ronson with his Brit award, the legend that is Lionel Richie is taking to the stage at Leeds Arena with his very own show, which promises to be very special indeed.

4th to 14th March – Romeo & Juliet @ Leeds Grand Theatre

Described as ‘A treasured classic reimagined. A timeless ballet for a modern audience’, this production from Northern Ballet is already receiving wonderful praise. Tickets are available here.

6th March – Barbara Dickson @ Leeds Town Hall

Barbara Dickson, OBE, came to fame during the Scottish Folk Revival of the 1960s and has since become the biggest selling Scottish female album artiste of all time. After 40 years in the business, fans are sure to enjoy this culmination of Barbara’s musical talent.

7th March – Charlatans @ o2 Academy

The Charlatans play the o2 as part of their first full UK tour since 2010, bringing with them their brand new album, ‘Modern Nature’ which has been described by Q Magazine as being ‘one of the finest of their career – new and old fans alike are in for a great night. Full details here.

7th March – X-Factor @ Leeds Arena

Fans of ITV’s hit show The X Factor will not want to miss the live show featuring all your favourite artists from last year’s series. If you want to see winner Ben Haenow, plus others including Andrea Faustini, Fleur East, Jay James, Lauren Platt, Only The Young, Stevi Ritchie and Stereo Kicks, grab your tickets here – they’re selling fast though, so book quickly to avoid disappointment!

9th March – Placebo @ o2 Academy

Gearing up for their 20th anniversary celebrations in 2016, Placebo are looking back over an incredible catalogue of 7 albums and classic songs such as Nancy Boy, Pure Morning, Taste In Men and Special K. Tickets are available here.

11th and 12th March – Law Leeds Roadshow @ The Met

The UK’s Largest Legal Services Roadshow is returning to Leeds this month. If you’re planning to attend the whole event, either alone or with colleagues, our short stay Leeds city centre apartments are a stylish and comfortable alternative to booking into a hotel.

12th – Thunder @ Leeds Arena

14th – BBC Philharmonic @ Leeds Town Hall

15th – Mother’s Day

17th – Stranglers @ o2 Academy

Why not celebrate St Patrick’s Day with The Stranglers on their 40th anniversary tour? Expect classic tracks such as Peaches, No More Heroes, Always The Sun and Golden Brown alongside some lesser performed numbers from their extensive catalogue.

18th – Welcome to Yorkshire Y15 Conference in Scarborough

This is Yorkshire’s annual conference and the biggest tourism event in the UK. Have you booked your free place yet?

18th – McBusted @ Leeds Arena

Hot on the heels of their hugely successful 2014 tour, the boys are back for more. Have you got your tickets?

21st – Paloma Faith @ Leeds Arena

24th – Brendan Cole @ Leeds Grand Theatre

Following his last sell out tour of Licence to Thrill, Strictly Come Dancing’s Brendan Cole is once again set to dazzle audiences across the UK with his brand new show, A Night to Remember. He’ll be in Leeds on the 24th and tickets are selling fast!

25th – 27th – Dara O’Briain @ Leeds Grand Theatre

Mock the week host and all round funny man Dara O’Briain is bringing his critically acclaimed stand up to Leeds and tickets are going fast – book now to avoid disappointment!

26th – Gina Yashere @ City Varieties

There’s more comedy on the 26th when award winning Gina Yashere brings her show to Leeds, as part of her biggest UK tour to date.
